Before you do that, first try removing the battery, and opening the access panel.
As srroos said, if you've got an actual slot for a WWAN card instead of just solder points, then you might be good to go.
Quite a few of the "previously ordered new" machines in the outlet store seem to have a WWAN card slot, but no card (at least according to the detailed descriptions on the individual items). If you sorted by price, these were usually the ones priced just below the systems with the WWAN card.
Something else to check on your machine's parts list (haven't gotten mine yet so I don't know if its in the box with it, but you can also look on-line at Dell's website and look up the asset tag) is to check for a line like this:
R183H Module,Cover,Liquid Crystal Display,IMR,Red,Wireless Wide Area Network,910
That would mean you've got the Antennas to use the card also. (If you open the access panel to check for the WWAN card slot, you might also see the antenna leads that get connected to the WWAN card, but like I said, I'm still waiting on mine so I'm not really sure
