Just received a Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu and 32 GB SSD
. However, when I go to properties of the FileSystem - there is only 23.8GB free space.
I don't know much about Ubuntu yet, but with the Disk Analyzer - it states I have 55GB available, and used 5.1 GB - weird.
Under terminal - when I type df, what I get is 29116320 of 1K-blocks, 2694840 used, and then 24918600 of available (except that 29116320 - 2694840 = 26421480!)
I tried calling Ubuntu support through Dell - they explained (poorly) that Ubuntu OS was partitioned upon shipment, so I won't see that space anyways. and apparently, virtual memory takes up space as well.
My concern - does it really eat up 8gb of memory? Because if so - then how can they run Ubuntu on a 8gb SSD
? My other concern is why I don't have closer to 31000000 1K blocks to start.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
