Pimp Out your Mini! My friends! (Cosmetically speaking) - 03-02-2009, 06:09 PM
Soooo... basically I have to say I am completely in love with my mini.. its about a month old. btw i'm considering doing a RAM upgrade.. Maybe possibly a RUNCORE whatever eventually if figure out what it really does and if its worth it..
but for nowwww I pimped out its style!
Its already a lovely 9 inch piece of beauty... But my little guy started getting scratched when carried around my backpack. This is probably a Liz thing because Liz is prone to electronic breakage/scuffing up her precious electronic items.. You would cry if you saw my Itouch haha.. So I decided to take a step in protecting my mini dell from scratches etc..
I found this site ( istyles) which has essentially those print out skins some people have... but they have their own little page dedicated to the mini 9!
This is the one I got, it fits really well! and shouldn't leave residue when taking it off.. plus it gives it some personality.

anyways I just thought I'd share with you guys..
they may come off as a little pricey $14.99 but i would rather pay it than have scratches and I like their designs =]
on the upside...
if you want 15% off enter the code PSPHOME
It worked for me. =]

No offense but - if you are just tossing your Mini 9 into your backpack without being in some sort of protective covering, and especially if you are prone to electronic device breakage, you should think twice about your habits. Keep in mind that the mini has many small crevices and openings built into it that are just begging to collect dirt and lint... SDHC slot, 3 USB slots, Power plug, Ethernet jack, 2 audio jacks, VGA port, ventilated bottom cover, side vent - I count 11 slots and openings though I almost want to make it 12 for the bottom cover. Even a $5 neoprene sleeve is a better investment in the longevity of your Mini 9 than a skin.
That being said, I love skins for their decorative value. They look far nicer than the stock painted covers! A great way to express yourself with your netbook!! I just hesitate to call them protective in any other way than to prevent scuffs. Of crouse if the skin gets scuffed you have to replace it as well...

I agree with the post re: needing a protective sleeve (or bag... mine's a Belkin) for protecting the cracks and crevices.
Skins are nice but it is for cosmetics and I got mine from http://www.decalgirl.com.
