For the love of god someone please correct me if I am wrong, but could it just be the Linux implementation of Flash 9or10 that makes HULU a bit choppy?
I use XP and even before I upgraded the memory to 2GB from 512MB, HULU performed okay. Mind you I had to keep it at standard definition, still do in fact.
The only thing I can think of to recommend if you are using Ubuntu, is maybe try Galeon(? The Gnome Web Browser) with the latest Flash plugin. I'm not certain but I think Galeon is supposed to be a bit faster than Firefox, though I could be wrong. Repeat, I COULD BE WRONG .
Also you said you were running your network off a an 802.11b router/gateway? That might be what is actually causing your dropouts. Not Ubuntu, or the Dell Mini9. You may just not have enough bandwidth across your network to stream the videos well. Again as above I could be wrong.
