Came back from a Celebrity Cruise trip last January and we brought the Mini 9. Wi-Fi was not cheap, but both my wife and I are what you'd call internet adict.
It was something like $124 USD for 80 or 90 minutes, which was enough for the 7 day cruise.
I believe other cruise companies have similar systems since I picked up the Royal Carabbbean's wi-fi one night at port and it was same sign-in.
The thing to note is that it's time based and not KB based.
I also brought a few DVDs that I ripped onto 16GB SDHC but I only ended up watching 1 on the plane.
Our Mini 9 has a 64GB SSD
and we used it as a backup for our digital pictures (our other hobby).
The display was not so good on deck. The problem was that we were going around in circles (Miami to Key West in 2 days!) and no matter where I would set up the screen, it always got hit by sunlight.
Overall, the mini 9 was a great companion on the Cruise.
PS. I also cashed out $1,200.00 profit at the various Hold'Em tournements at the onboard casino which helped pay for the bar bill and the wi-fi connection!
You'll enjoy having the mini for sure.
