Default problem with installing xp from usb - 07-01-2012, 04:22 PM

First of all I want to say hello to all forum members here and I really hope someone can help me cause im really desperate.

After days and days trying to fix my mini (the problem with HDD size saying 0mb) I finally found a solution and now it is supposed to be fixed (it is showing HDD size 7683MB). But the problem now is installing windows xp. I tried with wintoflash and winsetupfromusb and I also tried it with multiple usb sticks but every time when I try to boot (selected removable device) the screen goes black and there is white line in top left corner blinking and nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? I would appreciate any help.

That blinking cursor means that it failed to boot from a device that had a boot sector.

Make sure that "legacy USB" is enabled in the BIOS.

I'd suggest then that the method you used to create the XP setup on the USB didn't work. Do you have another PC you can try the USB stick on to see if it boots corrctly?
