Default Battery - 10-28-2011, 06:25 AM

What brand or supplier of regular size batteries works well on the Mini 9 with BIOS Ver a04?

Dell is out of stock so I tried an aftermarket brand and got the faults reported in other threads:flashing lights, no charge and warning message on boot. I back dated the BIOS to Ver a00, which fixed the battery issues but introduced the shortcomings of that BIOS: the reversion of screen resolution to 800x600 and icon shuffling on every boot. (the Astray fix for this appears to be no longer available at eeePC forum, either). So I restored BIOS Ver a04.

Any compatible battery brands?

Anker, sold by Laptopmate on Amazon and ebay. I had to use BIOS4, but it works. Not sure if they still sell the 4-cell ones. I paid $19 for mine.

Better-Power 5200 mAh Replacement Battery for Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and Vostro A90 Netbooks | My Digital Discount

This is where I got my battery for $50. I get 7 hours with it & have had no problems. I have no idea about how long it will last but my original Dell battery lasted 2 years.

Thanks for the replies.

Anker does not seem to have the regular size battery any more.

As I said in my original post, I would have bought Dell, but they do not have any in stock and I am not sure when or if they will get some.

Better Power sounds good, but I would like a regular size battery.... the compactness is why I got the Mini 9 in the first place.

Thanks again.
