Default Win 7 Home Premium Mini 9 64-bit or 32-bit? - 04-02-2011, 05:03 PM

I am replacing 8G SSD with SuperTalent FEM32GFDL - RAM currently is 2G

I can get a Win7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM version - will this work or do I need 32-bit?

Currently running Win XP - from what I have read on these forums, the Mini 9 will benefit with a switch to Win7 - is the price of a switch to Win7 really that beneficial for basic web browsing and email and possible online video watching?

Thanks for your advice

You must use the 32-bit - the Mini 9 won't run a 64-bit OS.

I like Win7 better than XP overall, but the apps you say you'll be using are pretty much the same on either one (except that you can't get IE9 on XP if your tastes run that way.)

Thanks for the quick reply - I just might stay with XP, unless I can snag the right Win 7 at a great price - Firefox is my browser of choice, so no problems there.

Windows 7 Student Discount
If you qualify, this isn't bad for $30. Note that it is an upgrade version.

I still like free best .
