I am going to have to update mine, but I guesstimating now probably between $600-$800. Granted, that will be over two Mini 9's..

I got my mini for £174 from the dell outlet. The specs are 1GB RAMb 8GB SDD, Bluetooth, Camera (which is rubbish), and WWAN 530 modem with Sim slot in rear - quite a bargin I think.

Total other purchases are 4GB SDHC £7.99, Belkin Case £14.99

Total cost £197 (which considering the WWAN card sells for £140 on its own is good value)

+90 SuperTalent 32 GB from newegg

I probably could have done better but oh well...

Refurbished Cherry Red Dell Mini 9 - $279
Windows XP
1.3mp Webcam
WAN Slot (But I don't think it has a card)
Free Shipping
Taxes - $13.93

Total = $292.93

It's supposed to be delivered today

I plan on putting OSX on it and I'm hoping the current configuration will have enough room. Unfortunately, this configuration popped up during a period with no coupons. And then, the Vostro A90 showed up today at $199. I might return/resell this one and get a Vostro. I think in the end, it'd be cheaper.

Cherry Red Dell Mini 9 | OS X 10.5.7 | 2 GB RAM | 64 GB Runcore | BT | 1.3 MP | WiFi | WWAN
Vostro A90 | Win7 RC | 1 GB RAM | 16 GB STEC | BT | 0.3 MP | WiFi | Tablet Conversion

Vostro A90 w/16GB SSD & Ubuntu inc. shipping & tax: $274
2 GB DDR2 + Samsung Slimline USB DVD/CD inc. shipping (Newegg): $92
Total delivered: $366

If need to upgrade to a 32 GB SSD then that will be about another $130 for total of $496. However, I am hoping the 16GB SSD will be comfortably sufficient for XP Pro, MS Office, and some other miscellaneous apps.

I ordered it on Monday. Projected delivery date is 5/26. My guess is that right now there is a container on a ship somewhere in the Pacific, on the way from the Compal assembly plant in Taiwan, with a lot of mini 9's and Vostros. That proably explains why so many people are being given delivery dates out about four weeks from now.

Just got it today, ordered it from the Outlet on Monday afternoon.

Alpine White
512 MB RAM
1.3MP Webcam
Cost: $236.25
shipped priority overnight (I wanted it for the weekend which is why I went with the Outlet. I must say, I'm VERY impressed with this refurb. If it were not the easily removable green sticker on the bottom, you would never know.)

1 x $20.99 NBM 2G|CRUC CT25664AC667 R - Retail
1 x $88.00 SSD 32G|SUPER FEM32GHDL R - Retail

(Newegg, due to arrive Friday)

1 x $35.90 Transcend 16 GB SDHC with free 2nd day shipping thanks to being an Amazon Prime member. You can't beat it if you do a lot of shopping on Amazon. Ordered yesterday arrived today.

So far I'm in for $380 and I still need to pick up a license for OSX. I'm very pleased with my purchase and so far I'm enjoying the preinstalled Linux distro. Would eventually like to make it duel boot Win7 and OSX.

In my humble opinion Apple is really missing the boat on this small form factor laptop market. I love my iPhone but when I want to do serious couch surfing, it's nice to have full laptop capability in such a small, quite and cool device. This is going to make the perfect vacation/traveling machine!

Edit - I forgot that I also picked up the factory bluetooth internal card off eBay for $25 which bumps the total investment so far to $405. Also plan to add a 12volt adapter or converter for the car and a decent case for it.
