Default "Exception encountered" installing Ubuntu - 09-26-2010, 07:00 PM

After many false starts, I finally got a LiveUSB with Ubuntu 10.04 running on my Mini 9. (I used Dell's 10.04 iso and usb-creator for 8.04, for what it's worth.) But now I want to install 10.04 on the Mini 9 itself; I boot up 10.04 on the stick, then open "Install Ubuntu 10.04" from the desktop, but get this message:

"Exception encountered--unable to find factory recovery partition (was going to use None)."

The only option is to click "OK", upon which the system reboots into 8.04, unless I force it back onto the stick.

Can anybody fill me in on what's going on here?

Thanks in advance for any help,

I dunno. When I installed 10.04 on my Minis, I used the iso from Ubuntu themselves, not the one from Dell.

Make sure any important files on the SSD are backed before following my example, though.

Mini 9 | Intel 5100 Wifi | Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook
Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit
