Actually the mini 9 has been a fantastic work PC - I'm typing on it right now, at work I simply plug it into a 24 inch 1080p display and external keyboard - and when I travel (i travel a bit but not excessive amounts around 1 trip per month) I found it to be very good.
I have upgraded it with a 64 gig runcore SSD
and 2 gig ram, the only issue I really have with it is the keyboard and screen resolution. I can live with the keyboard after all I'm not a speed typer more of a finger poker. But the issue is with the display, I'm an ops manager which means I need to be able to write up SOP's work on P&L spreadsheets run the ERP system etc. Now at work the mini 9 does this fine - but the screen resolution is the issue, at 1024 x 600 it is liveable but I really miss the extra info.
The things I love about the mini 9 is the built in 3G, the fact it has a VGA port for presentations - the M11x I'm getting (not at R2) has both of these (well actually I'm going to pull the 3G card from the mini and place it into the M11x).
The fact it is bigger and thicker than the mini 9 hopefully won't be to much of an issue I guess I will cross that bridge - after all I used to lug around my M6400 which was really a pain.
When I brought the mini 9 nothing compared to it - and now after 18 months of totally reliable service I can't see anything that compares to the 11x.
