For some reason, my Dell Mini 9 has 14.3 GB SSD instead of 16GB as advertised.

I am fine with this, but according to Giizmodo and a few other Hackintosh tutorials, I need at least 16GB to install OSX.

Will having 14.3 be enough, and if it isn't, what can I do to fix it (besides upgrading the SSD).

Simply put, hard drive manufacturers lie. They calculate the capacity one way, the computer does it another. 14.3GB usable sounds right. And the tutorials are talking about the 16GB advertised size SSDs, so it will work (actually, it's possible to install on an 8GB following the correct tutorial.)

16gig is fine SL takes around 5gig as has been said 14odd gig is totally normal - and runs fine enjoy your hackintosh

Thank you so much - I was fine with the 2GB less than advertised - I just wanted to make sure it would work when I tried to install OSX on it. Thank you!

Jeez, it's just the way it's advertised, it's been like that way for years. Just like how they used to claim 4.7 GB for DVD's. the way it works is that they consider 1GB= 10^10 B, while the computer counts it using base ten, this is why you only see 14.7 (i think about 200 is used for a separate hidden partition)
