Default dual boot? - 10-12-2008, 01:11 AM

I am guessing I can boot from USB connected devices, but I am having problems finding information on how to do it.

My mini is arriving Monday according to the tracking information
1GB DDR, 4GB SSD, Ubuntu.

If I have an old hard drive in a drive enclosure connected by USB, can I put XP on it and boot from it when the drive is attached, but still use Ubuntu when I carry the Mini out with me? (I know it will be somewhat slow, but there are times I need to use XP)

I've been looking for info on the options on the BIOS screen. What do you see on it and how do you specify boot order?

Just press 0 at boot time to get a list of boot options.

Options are:
Hard Drive
Removable Devices
Network Boot

<Enter Setup>

Just arrow down and select the device you want to boot from. Or go to the BIOS Setup Utility.

The device with a star to the left of it in the list is the default boot device as selected in the Boot tab of the BIOS Setup Utility.
