I bought my 1.3mp Mini primarily for use as a Skpe Video terminal and while I'm happy with the improvement in quality over the Asus EeePC 701 I'm a little disappointed with the quality of night-time transmissions. I suppose my Logitech 9000 webcam with RightLight technology had me a little spoiled on my main PC but I find it very difficult to achieve a satisfactory picture even after adjusting contrast, lighting, saturation, etc, via the Skype webcam settings control panel.

So my question to and video gurus on the forum is - how would you advise setting up my own DIY lighting rig to improve quality? Is there some kind of an affordable LED array I could setup? Are there tricks for diffusing light so as not to dazzle to subject?

I recently saw some LED clip lights with USB connectors at my local dollar store as well.
A couple of those and you'll be ready for your close up!
