I received my Mini 9 yesterday and despite using it for a ridiculous amount of time between then and now I haven't really done anything to test its processing power or the fact that it still only has 512 Megs in it.
I have a decently powerful PC and great wireless connectivity in and around the house. As such, the first thing I tested on the Mini 9 was remote desktop, and have had it connected ever since. I haven't watched any video yet (except low res youtube) so it's not like I'm pushing the limits of my rdp wireless connection, but it's been great to be able to use the mini 9 almost like a thin client all over the house to organize my media files, mess with torrents, and control file transcodes.
I don't know how well the Mini 9 would run with 20 or 30 firefox tabs open at once, but with remote desktop I can have tons of tabs on firefox, opera, and ie 8 all at the same time, with no slow downs at all
I think I'll still install Ubuntu to use when out and about (<3 Panera <3), but still remote into my main computer with rdesktop when at home.
