I find this amusing - they discontinue the 9 months ago but evidently still have stock or are building new to include in such promotions.

Yes, this is a good deal, if you are in the market for a laptop anyway.

I thought they discontinued the mini 9 a few times. Could be so popular, they keep making them.

either that or they want to zero out their inventory on them..

if you look at the For Sale threads on the forum...90% of it is for Mini 9's or parts for them

How easy would it be to sell the latitude E5500 for say... $850?

I tend to get burned in these kinds of situations when I cant recoup the purchase price.
