Default Can't get Moblin 2.1 live image - 12-07-2009, 07:45 AM

I'm hoping someone can help out, I've been banging my head against this all weekend and it's making me doubt my tech skills!

I downloaded Moblin 2.1 from the official site, and the .img file is 749 mb. I can't do a bit for bit copy to cd as it's too large, and I'm unable to do it onto a flash drive. I've straight copied the .img file to the drive and it doesn't boot. The frustrating thing is, I tried out 2.0 and the file I downloaded worked just fine as a live image and installed onto the hdd as well. Is it as simple as just putting it on a DVD-R instead of a cd? I hadn't thought to try that...

The Moblin .img file is a traditional PC drive image - a MBR drive image intended for BIOS boot. It needs to be copied to a raw storage device. Not a simple file copy. And optical discs use a different boot style, so it won't work on an optical disc.

So, you need to raw copy it to a: USB flash drive, USB hard drive, or memory card in USB reader. The process will overwrite any data on the drive.

Read the instructions for more specific info.
