Default Ubuntu 9.10 Distro Upgrade: mouse not working - 12-05-2009, 07:11 PM

Hey there guys. I just finally upgraded my Mini to Ubuntu 9.10 from 8.10. Anyways, now my problem is that the mouse pad simply does not work. I can not move the mouse at all using the pad. Now, I have a multi-boot system and I checked my XP install and it still works under that, so I'm a little confused. Has anybody else had this problem with their Mini after upgrading? I can't seem to figure this out.

Upgrading from what? No problems here, but I did a clean install. You might want to post this under the Linux forums to get more help.

Is there anything about the "Synaptics" touchpad driver in the GUI log? Run "grep -i synaptics /var/log/Xorg.0.log" in a terminal.

("grep" is a program to search text files for matching lines, "-i" specifies a case insensitive match, "synaptics" specifies the text to match, "/var/..." specifies the file to check).
