Default STEC SSD stressing - 11-23-2009, 03:23 AM

My only Mini 9 has STEC SSD, and it failed, then Dell replaced it with another STEC SSD, now the hard part is that warranty is going to be over before 15 December 2009.

Somehow booting to windows, it hang intermittent, but I can boot off from safe mode, then it can boot off from normal Windows.

Dell diagnostic tool, shown no error on Memory, Disk. But I am suspecting hard disk.

Here comes the evil part, I am thinking I better of stressing the SSD till death before the warranty, good idea? Thanks in advance.

I doubt you will have any success with this other than to somewhat shorten the life of the SSD. I don't think you can "stress" it to failure in the next three weeks.

My guess is that your problem is not the SSD.

Thank you. I am going to reinstall XP Home later today, this is so weird, properly the OS gone bad, or I installed something that I did not causing the 'hang' boot.
