Got the 9's last friday and went through each over the weekend. Here's my initial thoughts. I have some more looking around to do on each. 1) The keyboard takes some getting use to, but I like it. It actually is PERFECT for my son. 2) UBUNTU is cool an so easy to navigate and very easy to learn. My 4 yr-old likes the menus and finds it easy to go to the gaming and learning sections. I've found that it's a bit slow at times and have the occasional screen twitter/flash. 3) XP is OK. I plan on using this for primarily web surfing, and possibly email. Fast at times, mostly S-L-O-W, and also has the occasional screen twitter/flash. Overall, the $99 UBUNTU model is awesome! Now to look at mods and upgrades. Thanks to everyone who helped me. You got it buddy. Just picked up a DVD Carrying case with massive storage for $14 @ Target. The more I mess around with both of these, the more happy I am. Fun little boogers they are. Plus, it's perfect size for my son. |
