If Dell were smart, they'd throw in a two dollar USB flash key with diags on-board for all systems that don't ship with an alternative boot drive (ie CD/DVD-Rom)

Update: I got the Netbook back today.
I would consider myself competent with computers and hardware, although this was my first encounter with a netbook & SSD. Regardless dell said they reinstalled the OS and also the box "others" was checked as repaired.
I'm not sure what they did, but it was unpartitioned by all conventional standards. (unix prompts, mac osx install dvd, & ubuntu remix)
Now I'm debating if I want to hack it back to OSX again hah...

Just noticed that Dell upgraded me to a 64gb drive from 32.. So they did replace it.
