| Member Posts: 64 Join Date: Jul 2009 | Could use a little help. I'm sending back my Mini (as outlined here - http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/90835-post60.html). I only used it for about a day but there is still a small amount of personal information on there that I would like removed before sending it back to Dell. Should I run the restore off the disk? Or since it is password protected I guess Dell would have to go ahead and restore it anyway once i gets there? Any advice is most welcome. |

| Senior Member Posts: 183 Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Austin, TX | I would erase the entire drive with a tool like DBAN. Due to the SSD wear-leveling function, you're never going to be 100% assured that every bit gets overwritten, but unless you're working for the NSA a simple DBAN fast clear should be sufficient. Thinking of trying Dropbox? Use this referal link and we'll both get an extra 250MB of storage. |
