Default Restore Mini 9 to factory specs - 08-11-2009, 04:24 PM

Could use a little help.

I'm sending back my Mini (as outlined here -

I only used it for about a day but there is still a small amount of personal information on there that I would like removed before sending it back to Dell.

Should I run the restore off the disk? Or since it is password protected I guess Dell would have to go ahead and restore it anyway once i gets there?

Any advice is most welcome.

I would erase the entire drive with a tool like DBAN. Due to the SSD wear-leveling function, you're never going to be 100% assured that every bit gets overwritten, but unless you're working for the NSA a simple DBAN fast clear should be sufficient.

Thinking of trying Dropbox? Use this referal link and we'll both get an extra 250MB of storage.
