Default windows 7 install almost 7gb of hdd space - 08-02-2009, 11:54 AM

I followed the guide to install windows 7 in only 3gb od hdd space which was perfect for me since I have a 8gb SSD. However after formatting the hdd and reinstalling 2 or 3 times I ended up with almost 7 gb. I did do the tweaks suggested like turn off hibernation, cache, etc but only have 1.7gb left. what did i do wrong? Do i need to redo it again? Thanks

The only way to reduce the size of Windows 7 is to use vLite and build a custom installation which contains only the features you need, e.g., don't install all the printer drivers, don't install drivers for hardware the Mini doesn't support, only install the languages you need, etc. It's much harder to do this after you install. There are plenty of places with instructions how to do this. Click here.
