I don't like waiting for auto-unhide either (I've got autohide turned off for Firefox's fullscreen toolbars). And I use alt-tab to change windows, so the taskbar being hidden isn't much of a problem.

yes you could do that but i like the tab bar always open, the status bar safari style and the smaller menu... looks cleaner IMO.

Wow great thread nd4spdbh, ive learnt some new tricks in FF

following your intructions and jej.514's smart booksmarks, as i do use the bookmarks toolbar, i found you can move your smart bookmarks up on to the main bar at the expense of the address bar length

A little trick I use is this theme: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/307

Makes the buttons smaller Plus, it's a nice, clean theme.

This is my FF setup. I have way too many things going on in the statusbar to hide it.
I mostly use Compact Menu 2 and Classic Compact theme as well as customizing the toolbar. I do autohide the Windows tastbar. But this layout works well for me not only on my A90 but on all my systems as well. Since I use the portable version of FireFox and have it copies to each system.

Does all this stuff still apply to FF 3.5? Just wondering since it came out yesterday, and both my Mini and Desktop already auto updated to it.

Compact Menu 2 and Classic Compact theme do not work yet in 3.5. Greasemonkey doesn't work in 3.5 yet either.
