After finally getting all applications that this Mini 12 will be using installed (except PointSec), I find that the main application it will be running runs slow enough that the connection to the SQL server database times out after getting the largest set of data but before it gets the remaining sets. As a result, I am now considering replacing the factory drive with an SSD
drive to decrease the time needed to index the data retrieved.
The application that is being used retrieves a variety of record sets from an SQL server database. After retrieving each set, it adds them to a local copy of the database and indexes them. Unfortunately, the largest record set is almost 300,000 records, and it takes about 20 minutes to add that data to the local database. It takes just under 15 minutes on a Dell Latitude XT, which is still cutting it close to the 15 minute time out period. I am also going to see if I can get the time out interval increased, but that may not be possible.
