Unhappy Ubuntu 9.04 upgrade? - 05-03-2009, 11:17 PM

Dear all

I am running stock dell installed ubuntu 8.04 lts. Since they fixed the video driver that caused the X crashes I am actually enjoying it. But I am hearing good things about 9.04. I do not want to do a stock install. I don't know how to hack the corrected Intel driver on there. What about an apt-get distupgrade? Anyone tried that? Does it work?

I would appreciate any input. L

you should not do this, as the poulsbo driver does not work with the jaunty kernel, that would mean you have to do manual steps to go back to the old kernel and i think you also have to go to an older Xorg release!

I've heard nothing but bad things about Jaunty on the Mini 12; best to stick with the Ubuntu version designed by Dell.
