There are many threads about Linux on netbook. I'm writing this down to save you some time and make you enjoy your mini12 a bit more.

Here is a brief how to:

1. Download ISO from
Xubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat)

2. Install
(WIFI/Audio/Camera SHOULD work OOTB)

3. Configure Video card.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gma500/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install poulsbo-driver-2d poulsbo-driver-3d poulsbo-config

4. Some software.
If you like skype, download the Debian 5+ version, NOT THE UBUNTU version.
Install Firefox 4, the Flash blugin should install automatically when you go to youtube.com

5. DO NOT do system update/patch, it will disable the keyboard/mouse.


Some performance data.

1. With my runcore 32GB I boot up Zubuntu 10.10 in 22 seconds.
2. Sleep/Wake up in 7 seconds.
