How is Dell allowed to ship the Mini 12 with XP? - 01-11-2009, 11:49 AM
According to this info on the Microsoft site here: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/whql/reso ... 52008.html
I just wondered how Dell got round the 10.2" max screen size restriction. Or maybe these requirements are out of date and Microsoft have updated them? If so I'd be interested to see the new ones.
Notably, Dell does seem to be honouring the 16gb max SSD size with its Mini 9 XPpackages, even though they now offer 32Gb and 64Gb drives with Ubuntu. Similarly with the 1Gb and 2Gb RAM configurations; they appear to be sticking to the requirements over RAM with the Mini 9.

Those were the old restrictions. Microsoft had long since eased up on those restrictions to allow up to 14.1" screens and hard drives up to 160GB.
