Lately I've been having trouble starting up my Dell Mini 12, it happened one day in class I just decided to restart it. All of a sudden I get the following message in BIOS:
Quote:
For Realtek RTL8101E/8102E PCI-E Ethernet Controller v1.08 (080408)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
Operating System not found

Naturally, the first thing I thought of was a possible HDD failure so I ordered a new one. I thought that really was the problem until I formatted it, decided to try my old one, and it booted up normally. Also, the network card worked fine.
I tried disabling the network card and it would just say OS not found instead of getting both error messages. So I replugged everything inside and it works once again. But this time, the AC adapter can't seem to charge it. The battery can run the laptop on its own so I'm thinking it may be the AC adapter now.
Now, I tried powering the netbook with JUST the AC adapter and it works but it doesn't seem to charge the battery. Also, the power light will glow when it's charging but it'll blink off and then back on every 30 seconds or so.
Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?
