Default Win7 Drivers for Mini 12 - 01-13-2010, 09:01 PM

Hello, i“ve got an Dell Mini 12 through eBay. Im so glad now. Can work in the library without any noises. SO i try to install Win7 MSDNAA Version. On the Intel Website there is a quite new driver for the GMA500 from 04.01.2010. But i cant find drivers for the US15W Poulsbo Chipset. The Intel Website shows only drivers for XP and the Dell Website shows only drivers for XP and Vista. So what should i do? And how can Dell serve a driver for Vista and Intel not? So the Dell Website seems to be very bad too, the chipset driver is also called for 945GSE. Does anyone already tried Seven on the Mini?

Have not tested this, don't use Windows.

Driver:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...ccelerator+500

Supposedly the 10.1 beta 1 flash works better than the 10.1 beta 2 for Windows 7. I have also heard that the older Vista driver installed in Windows 7 works with 10.1 beta 2.

This is the driver for the Graphics Core of the US15W-Poulsbo Chipset. It is official for Windows 7. If Flash works, or not doesn`t matter, i want only to type my diploma thesis. And i want to type on a stable mini 12 ;-).

But there is no driver for the chipset itself, like this http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...05&FamilyId=44

It is strange. For the Dell Mini 1010 with the Poulsbo Chipset, Dell offers drivers for Windows 7, also an Chipset Driver in the Version 8.8.0.1014. This is for example the exactly same driver Asus is offering for its Eee 1101HA for Win7, which is also based on the AtomZ/Poulsbo Platform. But i cant find this Version on the Intel Website.

But i`ll simply try this Version for my Mini 12 and I“ll see.

Win7 Drivers works fine. Win7 installs even the newest GMA500 Driver automatically. But in the Device Manager i have one entry with an unknown device. I doesnt find any driver on the Dell Support Site which fits. I dont even know what a device it should be. Did anybody had the same Problem?

I Have this Version too. Windows Update is very actual. Im suprised. But do you have also an 'Unknown Device' Entry in your 'Device Manager'?

Edit:
Oh, i see you have a Mini10. Any 1210 User who can give me a hint?

Very strange. Today suddenly the 'Unknown Device' disappeared in the 'Device Manager' and a AS0S6UQG IDE Controller appeared in the List.

Does anybody have this Controller as an Entry, too?
Thought i already installed the Chipset Drivers...
