Anyone know what the heck this weird slot is between the vga and usb ports in this picture of the mini 12 mobo?

Hmm strange, possibly a SIM reader lead, it looks about the same size as the one in my mini 10.

I thik all mini 12s havea sim card slot near the battery but AFAIK they never actually produced the 12 with WWAN.

Althought I could be very wrong!

I dunno, the sim reader is further up, by the battery, and it seems it's solder points are right there on the mobo, so I doubt they would put a cable crossing the mobo from the sim reader to the weird slot. When I have some more time, I'll open the computer and see what I can see.

You guys are funny. The picture is of a disassembled Mini 12, and the "slot" you are puzzling about is where the keyboard plugs in! There are no mystery connectors on the Mini 12, the SIM slot is non-existent as well as the second mini-PCIe connector.
