Should I stay with the Dell Mini 10v or go to the competition?
I purchased a Dell Mini 10v (black, wireless N, bluetooth, 6-cell, SSD
, upgrade to 2GB). I have 30 days to decide if I want to keep it or send it back. The Dell appears to be OK, but not quite as good as other Dells I have bought. But perhaps all netbooks are the same--how do you all think the 10v stacks up to the competition?
Competitors (feel free to add more):
Acer Aspire One D250
Asus 1005HA/ 1008A
HP Mini 2140
Points of Parity (what they appear to have in common):
N270/945 chipset, 1024 x 600 screen, 92% keyboard, 1-2 GB RAM, XP, $300-$400 price point, some SSD
Points of Difference (what I think makes the Dell different):
Keyboard easy to use, umm..
Areas for improvement:
1024 x 576 screen format weird (friend has Mini 10 with HD screen and it is SO much better), clunky format with battery sticking out, generally slow, touchpad finicky, awkward AC adaptor
Risking sounding like a heretic to this esteemed group, here is my question: Should I just learn to live with these problems because all netbooks are essentially the same, or is there something better?
