Default Flash old BIOS? - 06-25-2009, 03:15 PM

Hey gang,

I suspect A03 may be causing me some issues, so I want to drop down to A02. WinPlash doesn't apparently like you to do that. Is there a way around it?

Thanks!

Hi,

I am also on A03 and have until now no probs. What issues are you thinking on?
Is there no chance to downgrade BIOS under DOS?

Haven't tried the DOS methodology yet.

I am thinking that it could be causing issues with USB somehow, and more specifically, with my ability to tether with my phone.

Of course, my phone is a piece of ****, so it could be the phone. But it tethers fine via my laptop, just not with the 10v. The odd part is not even two weeks ago, it was working fine.

I connect with an USB UMTS Stick and it works well.
Just in case you need the files for a quick and hopefully working solution

I don't think it's the 10v any more. I suspect it's the POS phone. I tried the same methods in Vista on my laptop, still doesn't do it. The only time I've been able to get it to connect was in an XP virtual machine using the AT&T Connection Manager software, which you shouldn't have to use. I dunno.. Could just be AT&T too.

I haven't tried it on the Mini 10 but have used the /forceit switch successfully in the past to revert to an earlier BIOS on Dells.

From elevated command prompt, browse to the BIOS file you want and, in the case of A02 for the Mini 10v, run this:
R220497.exe /forceit

Samsung Epix. It's a phone that was so buggy that Samsung never should have released it. Each new patch or firmware update has corrected some things, but broken others. Annoying as hell, to say the least.
