Default SD Card Slot - 06-15-2009, 07:05 AM

Hey guys, I'll be getting my Mini 10V soon, but I was curious, does the SD card stick out while in its slot? if so about how much, and if not....cool! (Pics would be nice!)

I have been using my Mini 12 for almost a month now, only just now I realized that the SD card was sticking out. I thought I could have additional permanent storage since SD memory is so affordable. Now it seems it's not practical with such design.

Works well for me but I don't leave it in as additional storage. Just snatch my pics off of it and call it a day

does anybody know if the Regular Mini 10 has the SD card "Flush" in the unit? Or was it just the Mini 9 that had that?

Since Mini9 and Mini12 are having the same "design", I don't think Mini10 is exceptional.

I'm trying to research if there is a "Half Size" SDHC card availible, doesnt seem to be. I pulled apart my 1GB Sandisk SD Ultra II just to see what it looks like from the inside, it takes up the whole space, so NO cutting it in half, unless you dont want it to work! hehehehe! Since people are taking these Mini's apart anyways for RAM upgrades, does anyone here think they can take out the SD assembly and move it back in order to gain more room in which to push the SD card into? That might be extreme modding in which case Dell may not even take back the Mini for "Repairs" under warranty. Damn I wish they had the sense to make it like the mini 9 and 12. Oh well maybe I'll just have to live with it! It DOES suck though!
