I'm installing OS X v 10.5.6 using an external dvd drive. BTW, I think ive found the trick to using an external dvd drive versus using a flash drive, at least for me (When you get the error saying it's timed out, or it stops reading the disc, unplug the usb chord. when you plug it back in, it'll start reading the disc, and you'll be prompted to run the OS X install dvd.
Anyways, I've gotten OSX ready to start installing. I get to the first window, which is 'Choose your language'. The problem is that the screen is cut off and theres no way to see the buttons labeled at the bottom saying "Continue" or "Quit" or whatever. I can get past the language window because English is defaulted, and i just hit enter. But the next screen gives me problems. I have no way of seeing what the button options are. I know i'm supposed to hit Continue, but i have no idea if its the 2nd or third button, or whatever.
I guess what I'm asking is....how can i do this? If i connect an external monitor via VGA tomorrow when i have access to one, will it mirror whats supposed to be on-screen? does anyone have a series of button presses for me? example: tab-tab-enter-tab-enter, etc??
This is truly frustrating and any suggestions would be appreciated.
