$25+tax at the Fry's in North San Diego, good enough deal to get it locally.

You should also check their website (Fry's Home Electronics | Computer Parts & Accessories, Software, Games, TVs, Cameras - Frys.com) and see what its priced at there, and if its cheaper, use the store pickup option instead of shipping it to you. For whatever reason, Fry's website will often times have MUCH cheaper prices then the store itself, and you can get those good prices if you purchase from the website and use store pickup.

W7 works quite nicely on it. A little slower than the Mini 9 due to the HD, but livable. I was expecting the performance hits, and they're really not that bad, just noticeable.

I haven't had a chance to dig into it much yet though. Hopefully tomorrow while getting ready for vacation I'll be able to get more into it.

I bought mine at Walmart (Inspiron 1010) and have my 2GB RAM ready for installation. After going through the pain of performing an open surgery, there I did NOT see any memory slot!!! I looks like that the memory module is burned into the CPU module.

Am I wrong???

Unfortunately, the Mini 10 (1010) has memory that's soldered to the main board.

While you have that puppy open though, I'd upgrade your HD to as big a SSD as you could afford.

The 1010 is not the same as teh 10v, which is 1011. The 10v's only just started to ship and be received, so you're not going to see them in Walmart or anything.

Today's Fry's ad, on the back page of the LA Times Sports Section, they have Corsair laptop memory, two 2gb sticks of PC5300 DDR2 for $29.99 after $20 mail-in rebate. Makes it $15 +tax for one 2gb stick! Which leaves you with an extra one to upgrade another machine, or sell for $20 and make your upgrade a paltry $10!

Hmmmmm.....

Now we just need a tester to confirm that a 4GB RAM doesn't work due to BIOS/chipset limitations similar to the Mini9 / Vostro A90!

There's only one RAM slot on these machines, correct?

Yes, and its placement causes you to be quite familiar with the inner workings of the Mini10(v)!
