Default Screeching noise, corrupt screen. Is it dead? - 02-26-2013, 09:46 PM

Yesterday evening my mini 10v made a screeching sound and the screen went black. Squeezing it, wobbling the lid, and other random acts brought the screen back, but then it all corrupted and became unreadable. Closing the lid didn't put it in sleep mode. I had to hard reset to power off.

So is it dead? I've only had it a couple of years and hardly used it since getting my iPad.

Certainly doesn't sound good. But it could just be a loose connection or frayed cable connecting the display. Not sure what would cause the screech. I wouldn't put a lot of effort into it.
