This weekend I did a 2g RAM upgrade, went in fine, started up good and was happy. My 10v saw it was 2g and was happy.
After about 5 min +/- track pad froze and screen went blank.
Did a hard shut down and then just got 1 long beep and 2 shorts, let things sit and cool off and could get it back after several restarts and also saw lots of black screens with text and number codes.

Put the old factory stick back in and everything was good again.

I have BIOS A03, 120g HDD, 270 proc, and running Ubuntu 11.10

The RAM I bought was this,
Corsair VS2GSDS800D2 2 GB PC2-6400 800MHz 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM

Any thoughts? Please ask me if I should give any more detail.
This is new ground for me but i have played with these cursed things before.

I would try the Corsair stick again and make sure it's seated properly.

The beeps usually mean something, there should be a manual that tells you what it is.

That's correct module for 10v. If its seated correctly, it should work without any adjustments to BIOS etc.. If the "old factory stick" works, then you have a bad stick. Try another one.

Must have been a bad stick, slipped a Crucial stick in and all is right with the world.
Now I will try OSX and see what happens!
