I just let it sit for awhile but finally managed to fix it. Details: I found this US seller, and this was compatible with my 10v: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices Less than $6 shipped. First, you need to take off the keybaord / trackpad / HDD and then the plastic housing and USB board to get to the power jack. I won't go into the HOW as there are several YouTube videos to explain that. Suffice it to say, keep all the screws aside and documented and use small hands / pliers for the ribbon cables. Once the DC jack is exposed, just unplug it and pull it out. Mine definitely had an issue with one side where i think it was supposed to be soldered on but it was broken off. Then replace with the new plug, put everything back together and viola! It should hopefully work. I might buy a 2nd jack, just to have as a spare. The Mini10v is slow, but I still have some uses for it and expect it to be around for at least another year or two. Mini 10v A06, MacOS 10.6.7 |
