hi,

I m wondering if my 10v is not a bit slow, it takes quite a long time to boot considering I got a SSD

if somebody could share their boot times in that thread, I could have an idea if my mini is being slow or not...

my specs are : mini 10v/atom 270/intel ssd V40/2Gb ram/win 7 pro 32bits
only got the wifi app, avira and open office that are loaded at windows startup.

my times :
from pressing power to :
-microsoft corp screen : 12 sec
-blue screen : 28 sec
-desktop appears : 45 sec
-desktop ready to use : 1 min 40 sec

by the way, it s not really a problem, cause I use hibernate and never shutdown except when an update asks for it...

That is a good SSD but I also think that is a bit slow for a boot time. My son has done some interesting things to his Mini 10v & I can't get it to connect Wifi in Win XP

While it is not a fair test, Ubuntu 10.04 boots to Wifi connection in 1 minute & 15 seconds. This is a stock Mini 10v with the 160 GB HD. Win XP will be about 1 minute slower but I have not timed it for a while so my memory might be wrong. I know it will not be faster.

I remember a year ago I tried xubuntu with the standard HDD and it was usually booting in less than 20 sec, very impressive compared to win 7
