Default Along time to start up - 11-23-2011, 09:36 PM

Long story short. The laptop dropped and got the blue screen of death. I was able to fix that with the recovery disk chkdsk /p then fixboot. Now my problem is it takes a good 20 minutes to boot up. Could it be that it is running that chkdsk every start up? I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the '/p' option actually scans the disk and tries to recover bad sectors and unreadable data, if it is in your boot file then it is probably running during every start up which would explain the extended boot time, it is really only meant to be run as part of a repair procedure on a one shot deal..not every boot cycle....
