Default blinking power light white/pink-orange - 11-02-2011, 06:38 PM

Unit about 2 years old. always used when plugged into wall outlet. Occasional blinking power lite orange. But solid white most of the time. If it is not the battery, what else might it be. The book says it could be a faulty device. I put a USB storage device to use with readyboost. I've removed it this morning to see what happens. Have also unplugged the unit tom run only on battery. Any troubleshooting suggestions. I haven't tried running with the AC adaptor only (no battery) yet. Windows 7 Starter. The unit runs well. Thanks for any suggestions. Mark S

How long does it run on the battery alone?

the unit rarely runs on battery alone. I took out the battery, reinstalled it, ran it down to 13% and plugged it back in. so far no blinking orange light. perhaps that's all it needed. Thanks

I have a mini 1011 (10v) and have a similar flashing light (white/orange) and my battery ran down to 0%. After several overnight charges to no avail (it seems charging circuit isn't working??)., I am looking at getting a standalone battery charger from a 3rd party. In other words, i'm planning on charging the battery separate from the laptop to take the whole laptop charging circuit out of the equation to see where the issue lies. Battery or mini 10V.

Anyone else tried this?

a few weeks later and the problem hasn't returned. I took the battery out-in-out-in. maybe there was some oxidation on the contacts.
