Question help! Screen Half White Problem - 09-28-2011, 03:23 PM

Hi, my 1011 started about 2 weeks ago by flickering the left half of the screen with the colors that were on the screen in stripes from top to bottom, it stopped so i forgot about it, today however it started again and ended with it displaying the left half of the screen white while the right side displaying windows 7 correctly, occasionally it flickers and shows the full display correctly and then back to white.(only long enough to see it's done it) I have connected it to an external display and that works fine, I also have another 1011 witch I use for parts (both are 1024x600 displays although different screen manufactures) I swapped the cable from the spare 1011 in to it and still the same problem... only it seems not to flicker at all now, I cannot swap the screen as the one from the spare has a massive crack in it.

both are standard 1011 except 2gb ram and the hdd in the one I use is 250gb the mainboard in the spare works too!

any ideas?

oh and its win7 home premium

I'm wondering if its the inverter board?

would be smart if you just downloaded the manual in case they pull it one of these days, the 1011 is quite old now
