Default unbootable brick - 04-05-2011, 12:34 AM

bios locked immediately after mac osx update reboot. only boot option is hdd and it does not boot into viable mac osx. i just get the 'white' screen with apple logo and spinner. i have tried to do all of the ways to interrupt the boot sequence so i could run one of the fixes to no avail. tries include dell manual special keys and apple special keys. nada with dell choices. i can get to the boot devices screen with apple hot key but only thing listed is the hdd renamed as i renamed it when installing mac oxs hitting any key goes to mac osx boot with white screen as described above.

i am 1 handed for next few months so dis-assembly is out. any other options welcome

would knowing supervisor and user bios passwords help me to unlock long enough to boot from a usb flash-drive or dvd/cd rom?

ps: reason for all lower case is right arm in huge cast so all typing left handed, and i am a righty

I can't help with the BIOS problem,, but will comment that I found Dragon Naturally Speaking to be a great help when I had an arm in a cast for weeks.
