Default Terrible battery life on 3 cell after 1 year - 01-12-2011, 04:00 AM

After about a year of using my dell mini for school work, lots of youtube, and netflix, I am getting 45 minutes of battery life on average. Sadly, this is not an exaggeration. It takes an hour and a half to charge. This worries me, as I have a presentation coming up and I don't want my mini to crap out on me!

Is there a way to reset the battery settings? I have been reading and it seems the 6 cell is the way to go. Should I scrap this battery and buy the larger 6 cell? BTW my mini is running leopard 10.5.8

If you install BatteryBar you can see how worn your battery is - it is probably at least 60% worn and needs replacing.

Sounds like it might be time for a new battery. On the new battery, I think you'll keep it alive longer if you refrain from using it unnecessarily. Don't run on battery if you're sitting next to an outlet, etc.

Has anyone purchased a battery from this seller? 6 cell Battery for Dell Mini 10 Inspiron 10V 1010 K711N - eBay (item 320608530199 end time Jan-23-11 06:01:49 PST)

It says 5200mAH, whereas the other 6 cell batteries I've seen are 4800mAH. Bigger=better, I really don't care about how much it sticks out just as long as it fits.
