Default USB Boot Problem With A07! - 12-24-2010, 07:57 PM

Hi! This is my first post, so hi. Anyways, I'm trying to hackintosh my mini 10v but first I have to downgrade the bios from A07 to A04. I've done all of the steps from Downgrade your Mini 10v BIOS to A04 (Requires Windows)
up to 2b. Everything has been working fine so far but when I can't seem to be able to boot from a usb key! Gah! I have all of my boot settings correct (here is my screen: I have the usb bios legacy support on) I'm not sure what I should press when I go to the boot menu so that I can boot from usb I'm not sure what to press: I've tried enter, f6, shift-1 and more but I can't seem to get it to work. Here's a picture of the boot menu:

so then I tried going to the boot menu but it didn't work when I highlighted usb storage and pressed enter.

Sorry for the long post.

O.k., so, do any of you know how to boot a mini 10v with A07 bios from a usb key? Thanks!

This suggests that your USB key is not recognized as bootable. Have you tried booting it in another PC?

Good idea! Thanks! I only have one other pc and I don't want to screw it up so I'll search around for another key.

O.K., I got it to work, but when I try to run the program it says : Warning! You are trying to flash a BIOS with a different platform.... Gah!

O.K., I got it to go past THAT but when I run the program it shows this:

Sorry, I am not seeing your attachments.

You don't actually want to run the BIOS program on another PC - just see if it will boot.

I've done some research and I've learned I'm stuck with A07! I've tried 2 different bios flashing procedures but neither of them work! Can I just straight-up hackintosh A07?

Thanks in advance!

I've tried the previously mentioned USB method and the A05 and A06 installation flash methods- to no avail. Just to clear that up.

I'm not aware of BIOS limitations nowadays for hackintoshing. Please ask about that in Dell Mini 10v Mac OS X Discussion at MyDellMini
