Hey, I recently ordered a Dell Mini 10v (1011) on ebay, and didn't realize until I received it a few days ago that the keyboard is french. I wouldn't mind this, except for the fact that the shift keys are the size of a letter key, which drives me insane. I ordered a U.S. replacement keyboard on ebay for my same model, I'm just wondering if they keyboard will be compatible with my Dell Mini 10v 1011 (French edition)? Just wanna make sure the keyboard fits. If you know or have had any previous experiences like this, please, let me know. Thanks in advance!

the 10v is the 10v...French/English/Spanish........should be fine

Thanks for the warm welcome! Just verifying, the keyboard I ordered had a full size left shift key, and the one I currently have has a shift key the size of a letter key (usually 2x size of a letter key). Thanks again for the fast response!

I just checked mine and it is 2 the size of a key also, mine just sits in the case 90% of the time....

Sorry, that last post was a bit confusing. The keyboard layout (French) I currently have has a smaller than normal left shift key, while the keyboard (U.S.) I ordered online shows the left shift key as normal. If I currently have a keyboard with an unusually small left shift key, is there anything I can do about it? Thanks, sorry for the miscommunication. And sorry to hear you don't use your mini much anymore :-(

you ordered the right one..it will be fine....and dont be sorry about my Mini, its 1 1/2 yrs old and the battery still lasts about 6-6 1/2hrs...and when I tell you its like new.....I still have the protective shipping cloth on the display....I got a 17in HP laptop that has a 3.4ghz True Pentium 4 Processor and 2gb....this thing flies....why bother with the Atom Processor....I pulled it out about 2 weeks ago when our power went out and my HP only lasts about an 1hr 20mins on battery, so I pulled out the Mini and was good to go......I even watched Judge Judy because I have the TV Tuner built in to mine..turned on the Bluetooth speakers..its was great..when the power came back on...it went back to sleep in its case....and it gave me a chance to run the new updates for Win 7 also

Alright, thanks. I hope you're right :-) And also, I can see how you wouldn't use a netbook w/ an atom processor when you've got a more powerful machine at hand. I'm just using mine for taking to school to take notes and surf the internet. I've got a main laptop for all the heavy duty tasks. Thanks for your help, its much appreciated!

try finding a laptop with a 3.4ghz Pentium 4 processor in it...I have been told its actually a desktop processor in this thing....HP stopped making them about 4-5 yrs ago due to the lack of battery longevity and this thing weighs about 10lbs...its truly a desktop replacement...never leaves the house..thats what the netbook is for
