Default Dell 1011 (10v) Upgrades - 08-10-2010, 08:13 PM

Hello,

I am new to this place so I hope I am putting this is the right place since i could not find any thrads on this subject.
I have a Dell Mini 1011 10v that I just got and it is standard.
I want to upgrade it since I have to take the whole thing apart to upgrade it to 2 Gigs ram I thought I would upgrade everything else. I am looking for some advice or an OK for what I have ordered.

Upgrading the b/g to N wireless.
Dell Wireless 1510 802.11n Half Mini Card - from DELL

Adding BlueTooth.
Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module for Latitude E4300 - from DELL
this is in question?

Upgrading the power supply.
56WHr Lithium-Ion Battery (6-cell), - from DELL
I am thinking since it acts as a stand it will help with the heat issue.

Upgrade the ram.
Crucial 2GB 256Mx64PC2-5300 CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM

And for sure upgrading the drive.
500GB SATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive 8MB 5400RPM 2.5IN Scorpio Blue - DELL

I think all this is basic but for the BT. I couldnt find anyone here saying what model BT would be needed to add it a 1011 10v.
I am open to ideas or a little help with this please.

Thank You.

Cool 08-10-2010, 08:30 PM

the 1510 should be just fine...or the newer 1520 which has newer firmware on it.....as far as the HD goes why stop at 500gb, WD has a 750gb at newegg for a little over $100, I am thinking of yanking my 640gb and buying the 750gb and using the 640gb as an external backup drive..

There is no such thing as too much disk space!!!!

PS. Welcome to the forum..

PPS. kudos to you for buying from Dell,,,so many people out here buy these second rate products from god knows who and many have problems with them....I personally always buy from Dell..even my 640gb HD...this time I might try newegg just for the price and because the warranty is covered by WD not the seller
