Default New SSD is very slow - 06-25-2010, 07:39 AM

I've bought a Corsair P64 SSD to upgrade my Dell Mini 10. My Problem is, that the SSD performes much slower than it could. I've postet a screenshot. What could be the problem ? Sometimes i have pretty bad performance leaks. Than it takes some seconds to open the start menu of Windows. I'm using Windows 7. The SSD is running in UDMA 5 Mode cause the Dell Mini 10 doesnt provide AHCI but i guess that should not be the Problem cause UDMA 5 has a max tranferrate of 100 MB/s.

I believe the old Mini 10 (model 1010, Z-series CPU, GMA500 graphics) has very poor hard drive/SSD performance. So, a 40MBps cap is expected Some info about performance on the 1010.

Mini 9 | Intel 5100 Wifi | Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook
Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit
