Default Dell Mini 10v Boot Error - 05-19-2010, 04:39 PM

Please Help

I've problem with my Dell Mini 10v (1011)

OS: Ubuntu 8.04
Bios: A06

When booting my Dell
I find error say:
read error


I've tried to CTRL+ALT+Del
But nothing changed the problem

Anyone can't help, I newbie

Your disk is corrupted. A reinstall may be needed.

I agree with Steve, 'MBR' stands for 'Master Boot Record' if that is corrupted usually the only way to fix it is a re-install..I know in Windows if you use like a USB Flash Drive to get into the command prompt sometimes you can do something like a 'fixmbr' or 'fixboot' there are a few different commands and sometimes that will work, but being as where you are running Ubuntu I couldnt tell ya if they have similar commands, there is a Ubuntu section in the OS part of this might wanna check there...Good Luck...
